Dec 2009

The 2009 season was a interesting season for us.  PSP made changes to the format for most of the divisions.  The paintball industry was suffering due to the economy and consolidations were happening.  With the economy becoming worst, we had to re-evaluate how many tournaments could we actually commit too this season as a team.  So we decided to focus on one tournament at a time.  We rostered D2, D3 and D4 teams for the Phoenix Open.  Our D3 squad finished in 2nd place at the event and was the first time ByF8th has ever podium at a national event.  This being our 4th season playing in PSP, we finally was able to make it.  A huge accomplishment for the franchise.

Then our season really did not do much afterwards.  We played at MAO and Chicago Open without much success.  A number of players lost jobs and became difficult to fund practices and tournaments.  Players graduating from college and high school also changed a number tournaments we could participate at.  It just became more difficult not being able to roster players at these tournaments.

One of the nice things that happened locally was the new AZPPL league.  We were able to play in half the events held.  It was an opportunity to get local paintball stores and field owners together and finally develop a sustain competitive league in Arizona.  Thanks to the folks at NXe for helping drive the league.  We look forward in the 2010 AZPPL season.

With the 2010 season around the corner, we will only have a single team playing this year.  We will be playing D2 this coming season.  Our goal is to play AZPPL Premiere and PSP leagues.

We are in the process of looking for new players to join ByF8th for the 2010 season.  See the home page of our website or visit PBAZ and see my post

Lastly I want to thank APD and Dye for supporting us this season.  Jon, Matt and Logan you guys are the greatest.

Being part of ByF8th franchise is like a family. We care and encourage each other. These are some of the nicest folks that you will ever get to hang out with both on and off the field.

We want to thank the AZ paintballers community for the years of support for ByF8th. We want to continue to join all AZ ballers in promoting this wonderful sport both locally and nationally.

We are spending most of our time playing at Fort Adobe Paintball ( http://www.fortadobepaintball.com ).

The ByF8th team is located in the Phoenix metropolitan area.  We are always looking for new players to join us. Your faith is always welcomed.  We encourage parents to get involved.  ByF8th is store sponsored by Arizona Paintball Depot and Dye Precision.  We love shooting our Dye DM's.  Best paintball markers available.  We encourage you to do all your paintball purchases at APD.

For the 2nd season we are very fortunate to be sponsored by Paintballphotography (http://www.paintballphotography.com).  Gary has been such a great friend to ByF8th.  We've been fortunate to have a number of our player's pictures make some of the major paintball national publications

If you have any questions.  Please feel free to drop me a note at eddie@byf8th.com .

God Bless
